The Official Johnny “Hammond” Smith Remix Contest

 There will be THREE winners selected, and each winner will be featured on a special edition CD for the current project of the publication of Johnny’s unreleased music. This CD will be out toward the middle of next year and this exclusive CD set will be offered to all Kickstarter contributors when the project launches in January.

 How to enter:

Step 1: Go to www.johnnyhammondjazz.com and register for the contest with the form found in the upper right-hand corner of the website. All entries must be recieved by February 1, 2013 at 11:59 p.m.

 Step 2: Go to https://soundcloud.com/johnny-hammond-remix/dreams-remix to download your sample.

 Step 3: Create your remix.

 Step 4: Upload your remix at www.wetransfer.com  On this site you will not need to register. You’ll use your email address and you will send your submission to music4mixing@gmail.com

 Step 5: After uploading and sending your remix, you will additionally need to send a summary of your remix to music4mixing@gmail.com. Use your last name in the subject line with the word “summary” after it. Include in this summary what parts of the Johnny “Hammond” Smith sound clip you used and what your process was. Please include what equipment and instrumentation you used as well.

 Step 6: Sit back and wait for the winners to be announced!

 Judging Criteria:

 Your remix will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Production quality
  • Creativity
  • Explanation of the process you used and your reasons why

Remember:

All entries must be recieved by February 1, 2013 at 11:59 p.m.

    • Sorry for the delayed response! Yes, the single SoundCloud clip is what you have to work with for the contest. Feel free to use it as is and add your spin to it, or edit parts in/out and loop…whatever you like. There are no stems available for this track yet as it is in the process of being mastered still. Have fun!
